Birmingham ArtsFest 2008
Birmingham City Council hired Perpetual Motion Productions to record the annual ArtsFest event in September 2008. ArtsFest is the largest free arts event in Europe, with 245,000 people attending 581 different performances, workshops and exhibitions over four days.
It was our task to capture as much of the atmosphere, entertainment, and fun of the event, and then to create a series of short clips for the council to place on YouTube.
Below is an exampe of the Birmingham Royal Ballet perfoming to the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra in front of 25,000 people in Centenary Square.
Perpetual Motion Productions recorded over nine hours of footage throughout the event, some of which is online while the rest is used as a bank of footage the council can draw upon for media and promotional purposes.
